Résumé du projet de thèse : L'écriture du mémoire de doctorat vise à examiner les relations entre les gouverneurs de la province romaine d'Asie et les cités relevant de leur juridiction entre la création de ladite province et la mise en place d'un nouveau système provincial sous le principat d'Auguste. Un des aspects principaux du travail consistera à étudier la réception des représentants de Rome par les autorités civiques (sollicitations, accueil, séjour, hommages) mais aussi le rôle joué par les premiers dans la transmission des demandes formulées par les provinciaux auprès des plus hautes instances de l'Etat romain ainsi que l'arbitrage plus ou moins consensuel entre provinciaux et Italiens dans la province et la transmission des orientations sénatoriales. La relation sera envisagée dans sa réciprocité et dans sa chronologie (l'entrée en contact, le déroulement du gouvernement, ses suites dans la province et à Rome).

The doctoral project proposes to examine the relations between the governors of the Roman province of Asia and the cities under their jurisdiction between the creation of this province and the establishment of a new provincial system under the principate of Augustus.
One of the main aspects of the work will be to study the reception of the representatives of Rome by the civic authorities (how the latter solicited, welcomed, hosted and payed tribute) but also the role played by the governors in the transmission of the requests formulated by the provincials to the highest authorities of the Roman State as well as the more or less consensual arbitration between provincials and Italians in the province and the transmission of senatorial orientations. The relationship will be considered in its reciprocity and chronology (the beginning of contact, the course of the government, its consequences in the province and in Rome).
