CFP Voices from the Edge in Scottish Literature, Theatre, and Film
Université Savoie Mont Blanc, Jacob-Bellecombette campus,
21-22 November 2024

This conference will explore the edges of the Scottish nation and its cultural landscape. It will consider identity constructs, developments and transgressions within Scottish literature, theatre, and film. It will investigate the ways in which previously marginalised or repressed perspectives influence and impact the national debate.

The guest speaker of this conference will be Scottish actor and playwright Matthew Zajac, who will be also performing his critically acclaimed play, The Tailor of Inverness, at the faculty of Literatures, Languages and Human Sciences (UFR Lettres, Langues et Sciences Humaines) at the Université Savoie Mont Blanc on the 21st and 22nd of November 2024. This will be the first performance of The Tailor of Inverness in France: http://www.dogstartheatre.co.uk/the-tailor-of-inverness.html
